Tips to Help Banish Masknie and Pimples

Is your skin dry, chapped, feeling left out? Or maybe you are seeing pimples when that NEVER happened before. Covid is creating a lot of problems and one thing everyone seems to have experienced when wearing a mask for prolonged periods is masknie. The tiny red dots can appear all over your cheeks and chin that appear after wearing for hours, days, weeks, and months of wearing a mask day in and out! We want you to be able to protect yourself and others while also living your most beautiful and natural truth, to do that we need to get that skin back to its true form.

Tip 1# Wash your face

Wash your face: Really? YES, really.

 "I'm not wearing makeup"

"I don't leave my residence"

"My face isn't getting dirty"

We hear you, but many people don’t realize how many things end up on your face by the end of the day or end of your sleep cycle (hint: change your pillowcase every few days).

For best results wash your face AM and PM. Having a clean face makes all the difference! Click here for a 5-minute skincare guide.

Tip #2 Use a Moisturizer

Make sure you use a moisturizer. We recommend one with shea and/or mango butter. The reason for this is because mango butter is non-comedogenic, it will not clog your skin and will actually create a barrier to protect your face from the rubbing of the mask material on your face [to learn more about how mango butter works see our previous blog here].

Tip 3# Hydrate

Hydrate - most people are drinking less fluids since we all started masking up. Having a water bottle with a reminder of how much to drink throughout the day is a great way to remind yourself to stay on track!

Tip 4# Be Aware of your Body

Be aware of what is going into your body. Listen to your body, take time to feel how your skin is. Does your face feel oily? Tight? Our body gives us clues, but we need to stop and tune in to best help ourselves.

Tip 5# Exercise

Exercise - We've all seen legally blonde (if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it)

"Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't."

We could all use some extra endorphins right now! I know I can, but seriously…..Exercise is pretty awesome.

Exercise increases blood flow. Increased blood flow can help nourish cells and clear away waste products such as free radicals. Also, regular activity can help increase your immune system, release stress and worry. Stress and worry can lead to increased cortisol levels, which increases oil production, and increased oil production can cause breakouts. So Exercise is super important for your skin. Got neighbors below you? There are great routines that you can do without bugging the downstairs neighbors, search for apartment-friendly workouts and find one that’s right for you!

Still Having Second Thoughts?

Are you afraid of adding an oil-based moisturizer? Don’t be! Many people with the same concern. When you put all of the pieces together for face care, you will see results and a huge difference! Over the course of 3-6 weeks, your face will start to feel the difference and you will SEE the difference. As always choose what’s right for you. Each person’s skincare routine varies depending on them, and the season. If you find negative results or are having negative reactions please discontinue use and consult a doctor. It is possible to have allergies to a specific ingredient, even if they are all-natural!

Please reach out if you have any questions. We’re here to help you find the right skincare for you, even if it’s not us.
